Hello all. We're hoping you will share this post. From 1994 to 1996, the Men of the Deeps teamed with school choirs throughout Nova Scotia in a province-wide “LIGHT THE DARKNESS” tour to promote awareness of the Canadian Red Cross. We are reaching out to former Nova Scotia school students who we may have performed with, or for, during these concerts.
Ever since that time, our choir members have run into former students, teachers and even general show-goers who had taken part or attended, and who - as adults - still reference their time spent with our group. We very much enjoy hearing about these snapshots in time. One teacher relayed that after those particular concerts, her school had a significant uptake in boys joining the school choir, citing the impact of an all male chorus performing for them. We were honoured to discover we made such an impression.
In 2026, The Men of the Deeps will celebrate our 60th anniversary, and we have several projects in the works. If you have a testimonial, a story or just a reference memory regarding the LIGHT THE DARKNESS concerts, we may want to include your memory.
✅Do you have a memory or story about attending a Light the Darkness concert?
✅Do you have a memory or story about singing with your school choir at a Light the Darkness concert with the Men of the Deeps choir?
✅ Would you be interested in sharing your testimonial or memory for possible inclusion in one of our upcoming 60th anniversary projects?
If interested, please send us an email to:
